Larumbe Danza Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary on “Las tardes de RNE”

On October 12, Juan de Torres and Daniela Merlo, artistic directors of Larumbe Danza, appeared on the program “Las tardes de RNE,” hosted by Marta Solano, for an interview in which they discussed the company’s history, its major projects, and its vision for the future.

As part of the celebration of Juan de Torres and Daniela Merlo’s 30 years as artistic directors of Larumbe Danza, the conversation provided an opportunity to reflect on three decades of creation, research, and promotion of contemporary dance, as well as the evolution of a company that has made innovation and the exploration of new theatrical languages some of its defining characteristics.

One of the highlights of the interview was the recollection of the 30th-anniversary gala, held on October 2 at the Coslada Municipal Theater. It was a very special event that brought together distinguished guests and leading figures in the world of dance, featuring national and international companies and prominent artists who wanted to join in this celebration of Larumbe Danza’s legacy.

During the conversation, there was also time to discuss the company’s current projects, its commitment to integrating dance with new technologies, and initiatives such as Stage_ON, which expand the possibilities for interaction between the audience, movement, and immersive environments.

A look back at the company’s journey, the challenges of the present, and the new horizons that will continue to drive its artistic, educational, and innovative activities in the coming years.
