GESTO Dance Festival celebrates its 10th edition in Coslada, organized by Larumbe Danza and the Objetivo D Association

The contemporary dance festival begins a new chapter in Coslada with seven days of workshops and performances by national and international companies, under the artistic direction of Juan de Torres.

As part of its 30th-anniversary celebration, Larumbe Danza—a Coslada-based company—and the Objetivo D Association present a new edition of the GESTO Festival, which comes to the town to mark its tenth edition and become part of the city’s cultural program.

GESTO is entering a new phase in Coslada, establishing itself as an initiative designed to bring contemporary dance to the public and contribute to the enrichment of the town’s cultural offerings. The festival is under the artistic direction of Juan de Torres, director of Larumbe Danza, and will take place over seven Fridays between October and November, featuring professional national and international companies.

The festival’s name refers to the gesture as the origin of movement, the essence of dance, and a bridge connecting artists and audiences. From this perspective, GESTO offers an experience that goes beyond stage performance, emphasizing participation, exchange, and direct engagement with the creative processes of dance.

Workshops and Performances to Bring Dance to the Public

Each day of the festival will combine a workshop led by the guest company with a performance of one of its pieces, offering the public the opportunity to discover different languages, techniques, and forms of expression through movement.

This structure fosters a direct dialogue between dance professionals and the public, transforming each encounter into a space for learning, experimentation, and shared experience. The workshops invite participants to approach dance through physical experience, while the performances allow them to explore diverse choreographic approaches and enjoy contemporary dance on stage.

The participation of national and international companies will also help offer a diverse program, open to different artistic sensibilities and perspectives, fostering cultural exchange and the discovery of new ways of understanding movement.

A New Chapter for GESTO in the Year of Larumbe Danza’s 30th Anniversary

The arrival of the GESTO Festival in Coslada takes on special significance as it coincides with the celebration of Larumbe Danza’s 30th anniversary—a company that, for three decades, has maintained an ongoing commitment to choreographic creation, training, innovation, and the promotion of dance.

With this tenth edition, Larumbe Danza and the Objetivo D Association reinforce their commitment to a culture that is accessible, participatory, and connected to its surroundings, promoting spaces for interaction between artists and the public and contributing to the development of new audiences for contemporary dance.
