For the first time, Larumbe Danza and the Asociación Objetivo Danza have organized a residency for students of the Department of Theater of the University of South Florida (USF), in charge of Dora Arreola, within the international collaborations and with the will to create networks in different countries.
Thanks to the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the City Council of Coslada, this residence has been carried out between June 27 and July 11 at the Centro Cultural Antonio López, where they received classes in different disciplines:
Project Development – Dora Arreola
Movement for the stage – Juan de Torres
Theater Design – Juan de Torres and Jorge Barriuso
Flamenco Dance – Irene Hernández
History of Spanish Theater and Playwright – Dani Llull
In addition to the classes, the students have taken different excursions to museums, theaters and emblematic sites in Madrid, Toledo and Salamanca, in order to share experiences and get to know the culture and gastronomy of Spain.
The residency culminated with an exhibition open to the public where all the knowledge acquired during the two weeks was put into practice through a dramaturgical work with texts from the play “La vida es sueño” by Calderón de la Barca. The exhibition took place on July 11 in the exhibition hall of the Centro Cultural Antonio López.
